At what point, is there ever
A time in space, a time in thought, a

That hand is their(s) to guide and steer. Navigating the
wreckage, past
Present and clear. To only get bit time and again, evaluating
each time
not wanting to reach, taking the risk instead of dismissing
all too
quick.
Effort is all that’s asked, gratitude would be basked
Outcomes blamed, responsibility shifted once too often
Maybe learned although it could be, maybe, earned.
No end in sight. Reward for the self-serving, givers get
The shadow of what takers believe is deserving.
All the air in the room,
air in the soul,
every breath headed for doom.

Foster Chambers
Most of us in this forum have the same last names “addict or alcoholic”. My name is Foster, and my story is no greater than, or less than anyone else’s. It’s just mine.
My addiction began at the age of 5, and ended 45 years later. I think we should get to know each other some before I become completely transparent with all of you.
I will share this; my life became completely unmanageable, I hated myself, and the majority of anyone that I came in contact with when I began my road of recovery.
I look forward to reading, sharing, and experiencing everyone’s “experience, strength, and hope” in this forum.
